CHISINAU, June 14, 2017 – Durion GmbH is pleased to announce the launch of an electrical energy system in Chisinau for research purposes as part of the agreement Durion GmbH has with Technical University of Moldova. The electrical energy system set on the university outdoor technology museum park includes a photovoltaic system of 46 PV modules generating 245 Wp each, connected to a battery storage system with a total capacity of 38 kWh.
The ribbon-cutting event, which took place yesterday, encompassed a presentation on the ground of the entire energy system led by Mr. Uwe Kuhnle, CEO of Durion GmbH and Mr. Viorel Bostan, the rector of Technical University of Moldova, having as a guest Mr. Vitalie Iurcu, the Deputy Minister of Economy of Moldova.
The event was followed by a press conference where the details of the agreement and information about Durion GmbH company were presented. The agreement between Durion GmbH and Technical University of Moldova includes further development of company energy storage system and development of vertical axis wind turbines.
Durion GmbH is a technology
specialist for development, design, manufacturing and operation of large
battery energy storage systems for market integration of renewable energies.
With a 2 MW LiFePO battery system for commercial reserve operation Durion built
the first large Battery Power Plant in Europe that was connected to the grid in
2013. Durion currently builds a 125 MW / 200 MWh battery storage system in
Germany. This will be the largest system in Europe for frequency
control.
